Student Academic Success Services
Student Academic Success Services (SASS), a division of Student Success, provides a variety of academic and co-curricular support to 海角社区students including peer tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, academic coaching, and other peer assisted programming. SASS collaborates with faculty and staff across campus to create resources designed to help undergraduate students achieve their academic goals.
- Supplemental Instruction --Supplemental Instruction is a weekly review program designed to help students succeed in historically difficult courses. The program provides study sessions led by students who have successfully completed the course and are eager to help their peers succeed. Students learn how to integrate course content and study skills while working together.
- Tutoring - Over 350 hours of peer tutoring are available each week in various locations throughout campus, including the library, housing, and the Undergraduate Studies office.
- Academic Coaching & Workshops - Student Academic Success Services offers one-on-one academic coaching appointments on a variety of topics including time management, study skills, public speaking, and preparing for finals.
- Peer-Assistance Student Success (PASS)<"> - Advocates advance student persistence through initiatives targeted at retention, timely progression, and graduation. The program provides additional support to students who may be facing academic or institutional challenges by addressing both individual and systemic needs. Advocates work with students, instructors, and staff to develop action plans that drive success.
