First-Year Academic Advising
The First-Year Advising Office provides professional academic advising for students transitioning to college from high school as first year students as well as freshmen transfer students and students exploring majors. First-Time-In-College (FTIC) students attend New Student Orientation prior to enrolling in their first term at UNF.
Students meet with advisors at New Student Orientation or during their initial advising visit. After orientation students are assigned an advisor who will partner with them in the onboarding process, exploring majors and progressing through their academic path to graduation.
First Year Advising supports students encountering academic difficulty through the Soaring to Success academic probation program. Advisors also contact students struggling with course content early in their semester as indicated through the mid-term grade report.
Visit the First-Year Advising Office website for additional information. Meet the staff and stay informed on academic policies, updates and academic information in general.
