Reverse Transfer

What is Reverse Transfer?

Reverse Transfer is a statewide articulation identified in that applies to eligible students who complete missing AA degree requirements at a Florida public university within the State University System (SUS) after transferring directly from a Florida public college within the Florida College System (FCS) prior to earning their AA degree.

Additional Reverse Transfer program information can be found at the Florida Department of Education, Office of Articulation, Reverse Transfer .

Who is invited to participate?

To participate in Reverse Transfer, 海角社区students must:

  • have completed at least 60 college credits, including more than 30 credits at the participating Florida state college
  • have transferred to 海角社区before completing an AA degree at the Florida state college
  • have not earned an associate of arts or bachelor’s degree at 海角社区or a Florida state college
  • have not applied for graduation at UNF,
  • be in good academic standing at both 海角社区and the Florida state college
  • be currently enrolled at UNF
  • have no transcript holds on their accounts
  • have fulfilled UNF’s Gordon Rule requirement
  • have met the state of Florida general education, foreign language, and civic literacy requirements

What is the Reverse Transfer Process?

  • After grades have posted for the prior term, 海角社区will evaluate student records to identify eligible students. It is the responsibility of each student to ensure that 海角社区receives all final official transcripts, including official score reports for credits earned via accelerated mechanisms (such as AP, IB, and CLEP).
  • 海角社区will notify students eligible to participate via email. Students can then “opt-in” to the Reverse Transfer process at any point during their invitation term. Students who “opt-in” understand that 海角社区will send their decision and academic transcript to the Florida state college.
  • Students may also “opt-out” at any time during their invitation term. Transcript information is not sent to the Florida state college for students who “opt-out.” Students who “opt-out” understand they may change their decision through to the last day of their invitation term.
  • “Opting-in” does not guarantee the awarding of an AA degree; it means the Florida state college will evaluate student transcripts to determine eligibility for an AA degree.
  • For eligible students who “opt-in,” 海角社区will send an electronic transcript to the prior Florida state college institution. The Florida state college will evaluate the student records and award the AA degree, if the degree requirements have been met. The Florida state college must notify students of the status of the degree award.

How do I opt in?

海角社区will automatically identify students eligible to participate and send an email notification containing instructions for opting in via .

How do I opt out?

海角社区will automatically identify students eligible to participate and send an email notification containing instructions for opting in or out via . Students who do not actively “opt-in” (i.e. who do not respond) when notified of their eligibility to participate will automatically be considered as “opting-out.” However, students who wish to change their decision may do so until the last day of their invitation term by using their account to access “Student Records” under the Student Services tab and then clicking on “Reverse Transfer – Student Opt-in/Opt-Out Decision” and following the instructions.

Student privacy and exchange of information

All student information shared between 海角社区and the Florida state college institution(s) to facilitate the reverse transfer process will be in compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act () requirements and applicable Florida statutes, rules, and regulations pertaining to privacy of student information.

To adhere to the FERPA requirements, only students who actively “opt-in” to the reverse transfer process will have their transcript electronically and securely sent to the Florida state college institution(s) where they earned more than 30 credits. Students who do not respond by the last day of the invitation term, and students who have chosen to opt-out, will be considered non-consenting and will not be eligible for reverse transfer in subsequent terms, unless they later initiate a request for reverse transfer. Students who elect to opt-out may opt-in at any time up until the last day of the invitation term.
