Brian Verkamp
Vice President and Chief Information Officer
As vice president and chief information officer, Brian Verkamp is responsible to the President of the University and serves as a member of the President’s executive cabinet. Verkamp is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the University’s information technology services and providing executive leadership and strategic vision for the institution’s technology infrastructure, assets, security and compliance programs and information services. Verkamp has more than 20 years in information technology experience providing strategic vision and leadership in higher education technology, research, health and learning environments. He has a strong focus on student and faculty success and is a motivated leader who demonstrates inclusive practices to drive diversity in IT. Verkamp received both a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in information engineering technology from the University of Cincinnati. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in educational leadership.
Jeff Durfee
Associate Vice President and
Chief Information Security Officer
Jeff Durfee brings over 20 years of security experience to his role as the Associate Vice-President and Chief Information Security Officer. He has been with 海角社区since 2003 in a variety of leadership positions and when not busy protecting UNF’s data and information, enjoys keeping active in university service. He is a past president of the A&P Association, a member of the Crisis Management Team, Technical Security Committee, Sunshine State Educational and Research Computing Alliance (SSERCA), IT Advisory Council (ITAC) and has served on EDUCAUSE advisory groups focused on higher education’s unique security issues and training opportunities. In 2013, Jeff inaugurated an annual cybersecurity symposium in conjunction with the FBI. This became a model for higher education and FBI partnerships, resulting in 海角社区receiving the FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award in 2020.
Dmitriy Bond
Associate Vice President,
Enterprise Systems
Dmitriy Bond started his progressive IT career at 海角社区as a student technician helping faculty and students in the Coggin College of Business. Today, he is leading the Office of Enterprise Systems for the university. From the ground up Dmitriy envisioned and built successful teams, solutions and services that help all areas of the university. He uses his skills to align IT strategy with the growing needs of the university. Dmitriy holds a master’s degree in business administration and a computer science degree from the 海角社区.
Chris Petrello

Chris Petrello is an enterprise support expert and information technology professional. He has guided his career by the phrase "I'm here to help". Chris believes that success in technology begins with people. Throughout his career, Chris has focused on connecting people and technology to support them in performing their work and achieving their goals. Chris has been successful at multiple levels of technology leadership and is a creative problem solver, effective leader, and trusted partner. Prior to joining UNF, Chris worked in the Financial and Public Education sectors. Chris earned his bachelor's degree from Flagler College and his master's degree from Valdosta State University.
