Transfer Students and Other Admissions

The Hicks Honors College welcomes applications from transfer and current 海角社区students through the beginning of their junior year. Honors offers numerous benefits to upper-level students including research and travel funding, Honors housing, mentoring and networking opportunities, priority registration, and Honors pathways in their majors.
  • What is an Honors Transfer Student?

The Hicks Honors College defines transfer students as:

    1. A current 海角社区student who wishes to join the Hicks Honors College.
    2. A student transfering to 海角社区from a different institution.

  • Can I apply to the Honors College?
Yes we accept transfer students. If you have all or most of your General Education covered, you may be able to waive the Foundation/Core courses and begin with the upper-division component of the program. Apply using the same applications as first-time college students.
  • Do I need to take any honors courses?

If you still need to complete General Education classes, please take an Honors section if available.

All Honors students will participate in Honors Symposium, a Canvas course that is availible throughout a student's enrollment in the Honors College, and complete an annual report.

  • What opportunities are available for Honors Transfer Students?

There are plenty of opportunities for students interested in transfering into the Hicks Honors College such as:

    • The Honors Transfer Student Alliance (HTSA) which regularly hosts both professional development and social events. You can follow HTSA on and to learn more.
    • The Honors Student Union (HSU) functions as a Student Government within Honors and is open to all current Hicks Honors College students. HSU hosts regular social and professional development events, as well as has several leadership opprotunties availible for interested students. You can find them on .
    • Fellowships Opportunties: The Hicks Honors College is fortunate enough to house UNF's Office of Fellowships, led by Dr. Tiffany Kershner. Fellowships are highly competative national and international scholarships that give recipients once in a lifetime opprotunites to do high-profile reasearch, participate in prestigeous internships, study abroad, fund graduate school, and much more. The Office of Fellowships is open to all current 海角社区students and alumni, but Honors students have the opportunity to get to know Dr. Kershner through Honors Seminar courses such as her popular (H) ST: Graduate School seminar.
  • How do I apply to Honors?
