Video & Audio
CIRT Video Studio
The CIRT Video Studio features professional-grade lighting, dedicated studio cameras, a Lightboard, professional audio, and much more. The Creative Team has designed the video studio to be flexible and quickly configurable for faculty needs. For most of the types of recordings that are possible in the studio, we have added the capability to do “live” recordings so that once the recording is finished, we can do simple video edits (like trimming the beginning and end) on the spot and then quickly transfer the video to your flash drive, Canvas Studio, or OneDrive. We provide hands-on support so that all you need to worry about is your presentation.
More complex productions will take more time, so we’ll work with you on the “post-production” aspects of a video project. We’ll be adding much more functionality as we continue to build out the studio. Whether you need to create course announcements, videos for your Canvas modules, demonstrations, or interviews, our studio should meet your needs.
-
High-Quality Lecture Capture
Faculty may reserve the studio for high-quality lecture capture. You come in for your presentation, record it, and we will have the video ready for you within minutes after you finish your lecture.
-
Green Screen
The green screen allows for virtual backgrounds using still photographs or motion video. You can even embed yourself into your slide presentations using PowerPoint or Keynote.
-
Sound Booth
The 6x8’ sound booth provides a quiet, private space to record audio files for use in podcasts, screencasts, or voiceover for videos. Recording of musical instruments can also be done here.
-
The Learning Glass™ (lightboard)
Gone are the days of writing with your back to the whiteboard! The lightboard allows faculty to be recorded on video while writing on a glass screen - think of it as a see-through whiteboard!
Studio Examples
We aimed to create a studio with greater flexibility, higher quality, and quick turnaround. Below are some of the studio’s components and a sample video of snippets of studio projects.
In addition to the CIRT Video Studio, CIRT is now available for recording videos outside our Studio and beyond our regular hours of operation. Depending on your event’s length, size, and complexity, services will vary, and more notice may be required to meet your needs. Examples of possible projects include recording student presentations, special performances, guest speakers, lab demonstrations or procedures, videos for research, and others. Please remember to include CIRT early in your planning to ensure the highest quality service.
CIRT cannot record every class session of a course, but we will help you identify resources for those projects.
