Central Receiving

Central Receiving is a sub-section of Procurement Services whose mission is to support the University in the receipt, verification, and delivery of items that are shipped from Suppliers.

Central Receiving is available for deliveries: 9:00am - 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Direct Deliveries: Direct deliveries occur when an order is either too large or the delivery location is a remote site. If a direct delivery occurs, it is imperative that your department contact Central Receiving. You can e-mail Mike TrotterKevin Summerville or Steve Marmash. Please include the supplier name and purchase order number with your notification.

Returns: Most suppliers have a 30 day return policy. You must inspect your order promptly to ensure that there is not concealed damage, proper items were received, and correct quantities were received.

If you need to return an order, contact the appropriate Buyer. The Buyer will arrange to have your order returned.

Courier Service: For pick-up of outgoing packages to be shipped by UPS or FedEx:

  • contact Central Receiving at Extension 1741 or 2869 to schedule a pick-up by our staff,
  • deliver your package to Central Receiving during normal operating hours,
  • deliver UPS packages at the campus UPS Store in Lassiter Hall (Bldg. 8), or 
  • for after-hours pickup, place your FedEx package in the FedEx drop box available on the Central Receiving Dock. Pick-up time is 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Delivery Instructions: On the Requestor/ Delivery Information Screen of your requisition, enter your Department, Name, and Building and Room Number in the Attention to field. For example:

Procurement Services, Jane Doe, Bldg. 53 / Suite 2950.

This will assist in the proper and timely delivery of your order.
