Important Information for New Employees
You have 60 days from your date of hire to complete your benefit selections.
What does this mean for me?
If you are eligible for benefits through the State Group Insurance Program, you have 60 days from your date of hire to complete your benefit selections. If you do nothing, you will not be able to enroll unless you have a or during the Open Enrollment period.
When will the selections be effective?
You may select your health coverage to begin on the first of the month following your start date. For example, if you begin your 海角社区employment on February 12, the earliest your health coverage can begin is March 1. You can also opt to have it begin the second month following your date of hire.
All other supplemental plans will begin the second month following your date of hire. So, for the above example, your dental, vision or any other supplemental plans would begin on April 1.
When will I start being deducted for my plans?
Once you make your selections, you will begin to see your deductions in the next pay period. We pay all our health premiums one month in advance, so you may also see catch-up deductions on that paycheck. Keeping with the above example, if you select to have your health insurance start on March 1, on the next paycheck, we would collect the full premium for March along with the first half of April's premium.
What Action Steps Do I Need to Do?
Be sure all your selections are correct, including adding eligible dependents. You must also provide for any dependents that are added to your plans.
