Sports Management Living-Learning Community
The Sports Management Living-Learning Community is designed to serve students in the sports management major. The Sport Management club is a target market. The Sports Management Living-Learning Community at the 海角社区 (UNF) offers students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the dynamic field of sports management. Situated in the sports-rich city of Jacksonville, this community provides students with experiential learning and industry experience through partnerships with reputable sports organizations. Students benefit from a curriculum that combines academic foundations with practical training, including internships and practicum experiences in various sports settings such as college athletic programs, community recreation agencies, and professional sports teams. This living-learning community fosters a supportive environment where students can build meaningful relationships with peers, faculty and industry professionals, enhancing both their academic and professional development.
Eligibility & Course Requirements
- Complete the Housing Contract & LLC and Interest Housing Application
- Be an active member of the community throughout the academic year
- Membership in the sport management club and/or a declared sport management major
- Live in TBD with the sports management community
- Support/Attend Living-Learning Community events and programs
Objectives
- Leadership and Innovation: Students will apply leadership theories and develop innovative solutions to address emerging trends and challenges in the sports industry.
- Industry Immersion and Mentorship: Students will participate in internships, shadowing experiences, and mentorship programs to gain firsthand knowledge and build connections with industry professionals.
- Strategic Networking and Relationship Building: Students will develop and implement effective networking strategies to build meaningful relationships with professionals in the sports industry, including alumni, faculty and industry leaders. This includes skills like initiating contact, maintaining communication and leveraging connections for career advancement.
