This is a very special year for us as we are celebrating our 20th anniversary! The 20th Annual Professional Development Forum will take place on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the Adam W. Herbert University Center. The forum begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m., with check-in beginning at 7:30 a.m. This year's theme, "Ospreys Assemble", is focused on learning to come together to face any challenge, overcome any obstacle, and achieve our goals.  

The forum is free to all faculty and staff, including OPS and student assistants. Participants may attend the full-day or half-day program with supervisor approval. Due to limited capacity, attendees are encouraged to register early for all of the sessions, including the Learn海角社区Leadership Panel and the Presidential Recognition Awards Luncheon. Anyone attending the luncheon, who is not an award recipient, is asked to register for at least one forum session.

Important Information:

  • Please note that we will not be printing individual class schedules this year.  Since you will receive an Outlook calendar invite for each session you register for, you can either print out your Outlook calendar for that day or refer to it on your mobile device during the event.
  • The Learn海角社区Panel and Presidential Recognition Awards will be streamed via Zoom.

Sessions Descriptions

The window is now open for submitting session proposals for the 2025 Professional Development Forum. 

The PD Forum Committee is accepting session proposals through midnight on Friday, November 29, 2024. Proposals must be submitted online using the link below.  

Session proposal link: 

 All staff and faculty are eligible to submit a session proposal.

Registration

Registration will open closer to the event. 

 

To register for the various Forum sessions:

  1. Log into
  2. Click Osprey Ascend (If it is one of your Quicklines - if not, go to step 3)
  3. Select the Employee under My Resources
  4. Click Training & Development
  5. Click Open Osprey Ascend
  6. Select the Events Calendar button on the Osprey Ascend Welcome page
  7. Go to May 7 on the Events Calendar (use the Day view to see all the sessions available for that day)
  8. Register for the individual sessions you wish to attend

Things to Remember:

  • You know you are successfully registered for a session when you receive a confirmation email (with an Outlook calendar invite) or the status for the session says “Registered” on your Osprey Ascend transcript (View My Transcript button).
  • If you want to attend the awards luncheon, please make sure to register for the lunch session, and fill out the optional form if you have certain dietary restrictions.
