Writing Program & Center Administrators

David is foremost a husband and father. Having earned his B.A. (2005) and M.A. (2008) in English at UNF, he recently completed his doctorate in educational leadership studying the roles of professional development in faculty job satisfaction and teaching self-efficacy. When he is not in the classroom or the writing center, he and his family are exploring the world.

Farrah earned her B.A. in Editing, Writing, and Media from Florida State University and her M.A. in English from the 海角社区. Since completing her graduate degree, Farrah has served as a first-year writing instructor, academic advisor, and most currently, the coordinator of instructional support for the Writing Program. In her free time, Farrah can be found reading dystopian literature, kayaking, or doing both simultaneously.

Graduate Assistant

Jillian is an English graduate student with a concentration in Creative Writing, and a background in visual arts, especially film photography. In her free time, she can be found reading, hiking, and making pictures and analog collages in her many journals.

Danielle is a biology major with a concentration in molecular biology and a minor in psychology. Specializes in first year writing (ENC1101, ENC1143) and STEM writing (technical reports, article and literature reviews, lab reports, etc..)

Graduate Assistant

Judy is an English Master’s student at UNF. In Fall of 2023, she graduated summa cum laude from 海角社区with her Bachelor’s degrees in English and Interdisciplinary studies with a Film study focus. Judy’s specialties are MLA and APA format and writing for literature, along with writing film analysis and other writing disciplines. When not on campus, Judy enjoys running in local races, reading ,writing and watching football and Bravo.

Graduate Assistant

Jenna Cox has grown up in Jacksonville and currently attends 海角社区as a grad student. After obtaining her B.A. in English, she decided to pursue her Master's degree to watch Jacksonville adapt and the 海角社区writing program and center grow--and unlock the stories hidden on the home front. Jenna has been an avid reader and writer since childhood, and credits her supportive English teachers and family for her success. In her free time, she can be found exploring pockets of Jax with friends, studying in the 海角社区library, or napping with her sleepy dogs.

Graduate Assistant

Elli is a Graduate with a BA in English and is currently working on her Master's degree in English Creative Writing. While her academic career has been focused on MLA and literature-based writing and storytelling, she is also fascinated by psychology, anthropology, and foreign language. When she’s not studying, you can usually find her laughing at terrible puns, spending time with her family, or talking about cute animals.

Graduate Teaching Assistant

Rebekah is a graduate assistant at 海角社区in her final semester in the English MA program. In undergrad, she studied English and Psychology. Now, she focuses on researching video games and other literary fields.

Alicia is a graduate student working towards her M.A. in English with a concentration in Rhetoric and Composition. She completed her B.A. in English at the University of Florida (2024), where she enjoyed learning and developing various writing styles and skills, such as analytical, argumentative, and research essays; expository writing; and fiction and non-fiction creative writing. In her free time, she loves to go on runs, travel, and read.

Emily earned her B.A. in English with a minor in Professional Education from the 海角社区. She is currently pursuing her M.A. in English with a concentration in Creative Writing and serves as Poetry Editor for the Talon Review. In her free time, she enjoys writing poetry, reading across genres, hiking, and playing table-top games with her husband and daughter.

Writing Center Consultant

Jah Johnson is a US Navy veteran passionate about deep thinking and storytelling. He is an Honors student dual majoring in English literature and Philosophy and minoring in Communications Studies and Film. He specializes in exploring the intersections of narrative and ethical thought, with a keen interest in analyzing literary works through philosophical lenses. Known for his disciplined approach and inquisitive nature, Jah brings a unique perspective shaped by years of service and a love for the written word.

Mak is an English graduate student that has been working in the writing center for over three years! When not meeting with students or doing homework, they are playing video games or writing poetry.

Shea is a sociology major with a minor in gender studies, specializing in APA/ASA citation, and has an enthusiastic focus on research. Passionate about critical thinking and education, Shea brings an intersectional approach to her consultations, helping students reflect on the content of their assignments while achieving their writing goals. In her free time, she enjoys reading, learning, and engaging in deep discussions about a variety of social topics.

Valentine is an English Major and History Minor at 海角社区in the process of earning her Bachelor's degree. She specializes in literary analysis and essay writing, Medieval studies, and short fiction. Most of her free time is spent swooning over Old English texts, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and writing.

Writing Center Fellow

Elizabeth is a 海角社区and Writing Center Alum, returning to acquire her Masters. After graduating with her B.A. in English (2018), she taught English abroad and has worked extensively with English Language Learners of all levels and backgrounds. She has also worked as an English Language Arts teacher in DCPS High Schools so, she can help with any English-related concerns you may have. When not working or studying, you can find her DMing or watching weird movies with friends.

Carly is a Hicks Honors student double majoring in English and Environmental Studies, with a focus on first-year writing, languages and literature, social sciences, professional communication, and science writing. She is also well-versed in MLA, APA, and IEEE formatting styles. Beyond her role at the Writing Center, Carly works as a Sustainability Aide for the City of Jacksonville, where she is committed to pursuing a career in sustainability post-graduation.

Aisling (Ash-Lin) is a graduate student in her second year of studying for a Master's degree in English and Creative writing. She earned her Bachelor's degree on the same subjects in Spring of 2023, and has worked in the 海角社区Writing Center since Fall of 2021. She works with MLA, APA, and Chicago style, and specializes in first-year writing, literary essays, academic research papers, and short stories. Halloween is her favorite holiday, and in her spare time, she writes short stories and bakes pastries.
