Selective Admission Policy
All students who enroll at UNF, who intend to major in engineering, will be classified as CCEC Selective Admission majors for their intended engineering majors until they complete the following courses (or their equivalent) with a C or better:
- MAC2311 (GM) Calculus I (4 credits)
- MAC2312 (GM) Calculus II (4 credits)
- PHY2048C Calculus-Based Physics I Lab (4 credits)
- CHM2045 General Chemistry I (3 credits)
- CHM2045L General Chemistry I Lab*
- PHY2049 Calculus-based Physics II (3 credits)
- PHY2049L Calculus-based Physics II Lab (1 credit)
*CHM2045L is not required for those wishing to declare Electrical Engineering as their major.
Upon satisfactory completion of all selective admission courses (either transferred in or completed by the second attempt at UNF), students will choose one of the four undergraduate engineering majors. Students are required to speak with an advisor from the School of Engineering in their intended major to ensure they are on track. Success and timely completion of these courses are critical (see Academic Policies page) to remain in good standing in the engineering programs.
