An Indiana native, Debbie moved to Florida in 1980. Shortly after, she started and ran a successful wholesale/retail rose farm which then diversified into a full-service nursery.
She recently retired from Santa Fe College after 23 years as a library manager and then an admin for the online learning platform. While employed there, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and an MBA from Saint Leo University. Additionally, she has a certification as an Instructional Designer from UF. She’s taught and continues to teach for the business department at SF for the last 14 years.
As a small business owner, she is aware of the challenges and hurdles small businesses face. With the resources and assistance that SBDC offers, a lot of these challenges can be alleviated, and business owners can grow and prosper. She’s excited to be a part of the team and to be able to put her previous entrepreneurial experience to use and help local small businesses succeed.
