The Office of Faculty Excellence

Office of Faculty Excellence with a heart

The Office of Faculty Excellence(OFE) is committed to supporting faculty at the 海角社区 in developing and advancing their academic careers. We want to support you at each stage from your first day on campus at the New Faculty Orientation, publishing your first article, earning tenure, to learning to communicate effectively as a leader at our institution. We believe that promoting faculty development will enrich the educational experience of students, encourage a culture of innovation, and support the retention of quality faculty by fostering an engaged and supportive work environment.

Throughout the year, we host workshops, conversations, trainings, communities of practice, and programs in partnership with the Carpenter Library, the Center for Instruction & Research Technology (CIRT), the Center for Community-Based Learning, the Office of Undergraduate Research, the Office of Undergraduate Studies, the International Center, Marketing and Publications, and other 海角社区partners.

Additionally, we support faculty through the High Impact Practice (HIP) grants to use research-backed strategies for teaching and learning that lead to increased retention, completion, and better learning outcomes for students. The Faculty Fellows program collaborates with faculty with specific expertise to provide professional development opportunities for faculty across all colleges.

Also, we want to ensure that all adjuncts and non-tenure track faculty know they are welcome in our office. Our programs are open to all ranks and we welcome staff participation.

Most importantly, we want to hear from you. If you have an idea or suggestion on how to improve faculty teaching, scholarship, or overall well-being, please reach out.

Our Mission

The Office of Faculty Excellence seeks to support the professional growth of all faculty and to build a welcoming campus community that inspires leadership, excellence in teaching and scholarship, and a healthy work-life balance.
