From miles of beautiful, serene walking trails on UNF’s nature preserves to the team-building Osprey Challenge ropes course and zip line, º£½ÇÉçÇøEco Adventure has something for everyone to enjoy.

Eco Adventure features include:

  • Nature Trails & the Sawmill Slough Preserve

Individuals and families looking for a safe, free environment to hike or view Florida native wildlife can visit the , a 382-acre wetland habitat stretching through the western portion of the campus from Central Parkway to J Turner Butler Boulevard. The Robert W. Loftin Nature Trails are open daily from dawn to dusk and are recognized as National Recreation Trails by the National Park Service. UNF’s five individual trails span over 17 miles of land and feature thriving plant life and a prosperous wildlife scene.

  • Environmental Education School Programs

UNF’s Eco-Education programs provide school children in grades K-9 with the unique opportunity of learning more about wildlife and nature while outdoors. Students explore UNF’s five-mile trail system to learn about the local plants, animals and habitats that make up the preserve.

  • Students climbing ropes on the Osprey Challenge CourseOsprey Challenge Course

The Osprey Challenge Course (OCC) is a unique, physically challenging experience that aims to develop and enhance group dynamics. The OCC provides a safe environment for individual growth by helping participants step outside their personal comfort zones enabling them to realize how valuable their individual characteristics contribute to their organization. Groups can participate in either low or high ropes courses and/or zip lining excursions.
