Taylor Leadership Institute and men鈥檚 baseball support Ronald McDonald House on Valentine鈥檚 Day
海角社区 men’s baseball members Dillon Kelley and Tony Roca recently organized a group of teammates to volunteer their time making Valentine’s Day cookies for patients at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville (RMHC Jax). The event held special meaning for the volunteers as Kelly is a former resident of the Ronald McDonald house and Roca’s cousin recently received their services in South Florida.
UNF’s CAMP Osprey program and Taylor Leadership Institute have formed a unique partnership with the RMHC Jax to engage University students in education outreach, leadership and service by mentoring pediatric patients in the local Jacksonville community.
“The partnership between 海角社区and RHMC Jax has become one of the most meaningful experiences for students as it exemplifies the importance of leadership as an opportunity to create a positive influence in the community,” said Dr. Matthew Ohlson, TLI director and member of the RMH Charities of Jacksonville’s Board of Directors. “Not only are our students putting their leadership skills into practice, but they are also making a difference in the life of a child and family that will last for generations.”
