Experiential Learning

What is Experiential Learning?

Experiential Learning opportunities are for you to take what you learn in class and use it in the "real world." Internships, study abroad, club/organization leadership, research, and mentoring are just a few examples of Experiential Learning. 海角社区offers numerous ways for every student, in any major, to take part in Experiential Learning. Better yet, you can start your Experiential Learning journey in your very first semester at UNF.

Because 海角社区believes Experiential Learning is such an impactful activity, we expect all students to complete at least one Experiential Learning opportunity by the time they graduate.

Why should I do Experiential Learning?

First, it signals to employers that you can apply knowledge to practical settings. Experiential Learning easily will set you apart from other candidates who only went to class. One study showed that students who engaged in Experiential Learning activities earned salaries of more than $4,600 higher and received their first promotion almost 3 months sooner than their classmates who did not. Why? Simply put, employers love hiring graduates who have these experiences! Plus, students who complete Experiential Learning opportunities are likelier to stay at and feel connected to UNF.

Experiential Learning activities are the bullets on your resume and the answers to your interview questions.

At UNF, Experiential Learning is grouped into seven broad categories. Each icon will take you to a new page with more information about that category, along with examples, and opportunities at UNF.
