Artificial Intelligence and Entrepreneurship in Delhi and Jaipur, India

The objective of this program is to offer Business and Engineering students a chance to broaden their global outlook through participation in a study abroad program in Gurugram City, known as the IT Hub and the emerging start-up capital of India. Emphasizing the development of cross-cultural skills, the course aims to deepen students' comprehension of engineering methodologies in the context of India. It also aims to enhance students' awareness of cultural biases, preparing them to collaborate effectively with peers from diverse backgrounds. The program includes workshops, guest lectures, and experiential learning opportunities, such as cultural activities and tours, to enrich the learning experience. India, renowned for its multifaceted culture and traditions, is positioning itself as a global cultural center, harmonizing history, art, and modernity in a distinctive blend.

This cross-discipline program is led by faculty from the College of Computing, Engineering, and Construction, and co-led by faculty from the Coggin College of Business.

Note: This program requires students to complete a selection interview after submitting an application.

Meeting Dates

Preparatory class meetings take place throughout the Spring 2025 semester.  Meeting days/times will be finalized by November and visible when you register for the 海角社区course through myWings. 

Courses & Prerequisites

Coggin students register for the following course for the spring semester:

  • MAN4956 (prerequisite = MAN3025 Principles of Management)

CCEC students register for one of the following course for the spring semester, no prerequisites required.  

  • EML4930 (Mechanical Engineering)
  • EEL4955 (Electrical Engineering)
  • CIS4930 (Computing)
  • EML4970 (Advanced Manufacturing)

Participants

  • Up to 10 Coggin undergraduate students who meet the above prerequisite(s).
  • Up to 10 CCEC undergraduate students.

Cost

Students pay for three credit hours of 海角社区Spring 2025 tuition and fees for this study abroad course plus a program fee to cover most travel expenses.  For details on the program fee, contact the faculty leader(s) below.

Visits planned as part of this study abroad program include the following:

  • City sites in Delhi
    • , (a UNESCO World Heritage site), Delhi Haat,
  • City sites in Jaipur

  • Guest lectures on AI & Entrepreneurship by industry co-founders at the University Campus

    • Indigotex Pvt. Ltd. (Agri-Tech)
    • Carditek Medical Device Pvt. Ltd. (Health-Tech)
    • Accord Innovations Pvt. Ltd. (Health-Tech)
  • Yoga and meditation session
  • Indian traditional attire workshop
  • Hindi language and Indian spiritualism session

The above visits are tentative until finalized closer to travel dates.

Logistics

Students will be in shared accommodations.  Accommodations, in-country transportation, activities and entrance fees are included in the program fee, along with a few meals.  Students book their own flights with the guidance of the faculty leaders.
