Rosa x 'La Marne' - La Marne rose

Description:

Approximately 100 to 200 wild rose species grow naturally around the world in the northern hemisphere. Most garden roses are complex hybrids of these species. This is an an old hybrid that originated in France. The name commemorates a 1914 battle between France and Germany on the Marne River. Stems are a nearly thornless. Flowers are pink, semi-double. This rose is resistant to foliage diseases.

Size:

Shrub to about three to four feet tall.

Care Instructions:

Light: full sun

Water: drought tolerant when established, flowers best if irrigated

Soil: average garden soil, responds well to fertilizer

In general, roses grow well in a well-drained soil, in full sun, in a spot with good air circulation. They flower on new growth. Encouraging new growth with irrigation and fertilizer results in more flowers. Good air circulation helps control fungal disease.
